V Solas is a source for Christian insights in the Reformed tradition by those who put their faith into action in all areas of life. We are committed to equipping resources for a Biblical worldview to glorify The Lord by advancing the gospel and His Kingdom.

Our name, V Solas, is derived from the Roman numeral V for five (5) and the Latin word sola meaning alone or only. Thus our name can be said as Five Solas. The Five Solas are five Latin phrases or slogans that emerged during the Protestant Reformation to summarize the Reformers’ basic theological beliefs and articulate faithfulness to Biblical Christianity.

The Five Solas are:

  1. Sola Scriptura (by Scripture Alone): The Holy Bible alone is the ultimate, authoritative and infallible word of God.
  2. Sola Fide (by Faith Alone): God’s justification of sinners, on the basis of the life, death, and resurrection of his Son, The Lord Christ Jesus, is received by faith alone and yields good works.
  3. Sola Gratia (by Grace Alone): Salvation comes only as an unprovoked and unmerited gift from God.
  4. Solus Christus or Solo Christo (Christ Alone or Through Christ Alone): The Lord Christ Jesus is the sole mediator between God and man.
  5. Soli Deo Gloria (Glory to God Alone or To God Alone Be Glory): All of life is to be lived to the glory of God and to enjoy him forever.

Whether you are someone who has a casual interest in our resources, or someone who is seasoned in ministry, it is our hope that you’ll take away something that will light your path to the truth.
